Lawrence Model Railroad Club 24th Annual Train Show Feb 28-Mar 1
Andrew Bobis’s legendary HO modular layout "Santa Fe All The Way" makes its first appearance at the Lawrence Model Railroad Club’s 24th Annual Train Show, Feb. 28–Mar. 1 at Crown Toyota, 3400 S. Iowa St.

Andrew Bobis’s "Santa Fe All The Way" HO modular layout will make its first appearance at the Lawrence Model Railroad Club’s 24th Annual Train Show, set for Feb. 28–Mar. 1 at Crown Toyota, 3400 South Iowa Street in Lawrence. Doors open Feb. 28 at 9:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m.; the show runs Feb. 29-Mar. 1 with the final day operating 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., according to the Railfan timetable entry for the event.
The two-day show will feature vendors selling new and used model trains in all scales and gauges and multiple operating model railroad displays, Railfan listings say. The club’s own materials promote the Bobis layout as "legendary," note it has been featured on Trains.com, and point readers to a Facebook page with pictures and history. The Lawrence Model Railroad Club also operates two club layouts from its Baldwin City clubhouse, housed in the old Santa Fe Train Depot built in 1906 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Admission for the weekend is listed as a $10.00 suggested donation, with a $2.00 discount available for attendees who bring donated canned goods. Past Lawrence shows collected canned food for the Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen; a 2008 Lawrence Journal-World account noted that "a portion of the admission fee collected from the event will go to the Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen, or LINK," and earlier shows drew more than 300 attendees. Railfan’s current listing includes the canned-goods discount as part of this year’s advertised admission terms.

Amenities advertised for the event include refreshments, wheelchair accessibility and free parking, and the Railfan timetable marks the show as an NMRA event. For show confirmation or media requests, Railfan lists event contact Jim Turner at (785) 393-6207; the club’s official contact information includes socialmedia@lawrencemodelrailroadclub.org and a text-first phone number, 785-691-7247. White River Productions, which distributes the Railfan timetable, notes it is not responsible for listing errors and implicitly encourages verification with the event sponsor.
Vendor logistics are tight: the club’s event page states, "Vender and Club reservations is closed. No worries though, we are having a show in December! Look for news soon." That closure suggests on-site vendor tables may be limited; prospective sellers and press should use the listed contacts to confirm table availability, the final vendor lineup and any last-minute changes to hours or admission. Historical show details, HO, N and once-introduced G scales, and modeled scenes such as fishermen at mountain streams and cement plants with smoking chimneys, hint at the variety attendees can expect when the show opens at Crown Toyota on Feb. 28.
