Walthers March 2026 New Product Express Highlights GP60, Code 83 Crossings

Walthers' monthly New Product Express for March 2026 landed on March 10, and the headline item arrived just 23 seconds into the video: the WalthersProto EMD GP60 locomotive, a new tooling effort with road name-specific details that include wire grab irons and etched metal lift rings. Road names listed for the announcement include Maine Central, Seaboard Coast Line, and Southern Ry., with two to three road numbers planned per scheme. Release is slated for Summer 2026.

The GP60 shares the video with the WalthersMainline 73' Greenville 7000, which appears at the 2:03 mark. Details on the Greenville car's pricing, road names, and release window were not included in the initial announcement materials.

On the structures side, the WalthersCornerstone Amtrak rural station rounds out the HO scale offerings at $39.98, also targeting a Summer 2026 street date. The rolling stock side adds the WalthersProto SIECO 50-foot pulpwood flatcar in HO scale, priced at $54.98 with the same Summer 2026 window.

The week's product roundup also brought announcements from other manufacturers. ScaleTrains is putting its Operator line Trinity 31,000-gallon tank car on the calendar for August 2026 at $29.99. Road names for the black HO scale tank car span Nebraska Corn Processing, Bridger Rail Shipping, Ferromex, Siouxland Ethanol, and Trinity Industries Leasing. The New Product Express series runs monthly, with the February edition having dropped February 17 and January's on January 15.
