NBA 2K26 adds real 2026 Draft prospects in college jerseys

NBA 2K26’s latest menu update started showing a 2026 NBA Draft promo with prospects wearing their real college jerseys, a small in-game change that immediately makes the draft pipeline feel more real. NBA 2K25 did not present draft prospects with their college teams this way, so the new display stands out as more than a cosmetic refresh.

The change appeared in a June 22, 2026 menu update, when players noticed the new draft promo featuring several top prospects in authentic school uniforms. 2K has already spent NBA 2K26 building out college basketball content in a way the series had not seen in years. Season 5 launched on February 20, 2026 and brought college-themed content from 16 schools: UCLA, Duke, Arizona, Kansas, Texas, Michigan, Michigan State, Louisville, Purdue, Kentucky, Florida, North Carolina, Baylor, Houston, Ohio State and UConn.

2K said Season 5 included more than 40 active college players, and On3 later published a full list of 40 men’s and women’s players featured in the game. The season also added daily Challenge Games through March 30 and 41 evolution cards, with current college cards starting at 94 OVR Diamond and climbing to 96 OVR Pink Diamond before reaching 98 OVR Galaxy Opal. That setup gave NBA 2K26 a more complete college layer inside MyTEAM and MyCAREER, and the new draft promo now extends that same presentation into the broader game menus.

The timing also fits the larger direction 2K has been pushing. The company tied Season 5 to a broader college basketball experience planned for early 2027 and called the college-school collaboration in MyTEAM a “historic moment.” Current college athletes had not appeared in a basketball video game since College Hoops 2K8 in 2007, and the return of real college jerseys on draft prospects carries extra weight for longtime fans who track both the NBA pipeline and the college game.

The June 22 promo does not confirm every next step for MyTEAM, but it does show 2K making the draft feel more connected to the college product it has already rebuilt. After NBA 2K25 skipped that look entirely, NBA 2K26 is now placing real prospects, real schools and the real draft conversation in the same frame.
