Fantasy Grounds just gave Pathfinder 2e groups another practical way to run the remaster without patchwork imports. Its Player Core 2 module arrived with the game’s eight remastered classes, so tables can now build alchemists, barbarians, champions, investigators, monks, oracles, sorcerers, and swashbucklers inside a digital environment many groups already use for weekly play.

That matters because Player Core 2 is not a narrow rules add-on. Paizo’s 320-page hardcover expanded the character-building side of Pathfinder with more than 40 archetypes, expanded ancestries, and a heavy package of feats, spells, and alchemical items. Archives of Nethys lists 43 archetypes and names ancestries such as catfolk, dhampir, dragonblood, duskwalker, hobgoblin, kholo, kobold, lizardfolk, ratfolk, tengu, and tripkee. For online tables, that means fewer homebrew detours when a player wants a remastered build that was awkward to track by hand just a few weeks ago.

The Fantasy Grounds listing, released May 8, 2026, says the module was adapted by Martin Blake and requires the free Fantasy Grounds VTT plus the Pathfinder 2.0 ruleset. It is compatible with Fantasy Grounds Unity, and buyers can get PDF credit through paizo.com account synchronization, a useful detail for groups that split between physical books and digital play. In practice, that makes the purchase easier to justify for GMs trying to keep one rules baseline across their table.

The release also lands in a rules environment that is still being maintained. Paizo’s spring 2026 errata pass singled out Player Core 2 as the only title covered, and that update included a major revamp for the firework technician archetype, along with fixes to oracle spell repertoire text and weapon trance. For groups choosing a VTT stack, that matters: the Fantasy Grounds module is not just a scan of the hardcover. It is part of the current remastered rules picture.

Paizo first announced Player Core 2 in 2023 as part of the Pathfinder Second Edition Remaster Project, saying it would complete the remastered presentation of the game’s core rules. The tabletop book reached release on August 1, 2024, and the Fantasy Grounds version now extends that same core package into another major online play platform. For PF2e tables that want the remaster tonight, not after a conversion project, this is the kind of release that closes a real gap.
