Paizo has put a clear flag in the ground for Starfinder Society tables: the first season is nearing its conclusion, and Invasion’s Edge is being brought to an end. The April 22 post, Beyond the Blood Door, matters because organized play runs on continuity, and this announcement tells Venture-Officers, regular GMs, and convention organizers that the campaign is not stalling out. It is shifting into its next phase on purpose.

That next phase begins at Gen Con 2026 with Starfinder Society Scenario #2-01: The First Cut, a 1st- through 2nd-level adventure written by Matt Duvall. Paizo says Beyond the Blood Door is the second season of Starfinder Society for Starfinder Second Edition, following the rollout announced for Gen Con 2025, when the line launched with a special adventure and four Starfinder Society Scenarios. For active tables, the practical message is simple: season one content is winding down, and a new campaign identity is already lined up behind it.

Paizo is also changing what players can bring to the table on day one of the new season. Beyond the Blood Door will launch with a player’s guide, new campaign backgrounds, and one new ancestry tied to Absalom Station. Paizo says the season will also add new boons in the boon store and a generic adventure sanctioning document, giving players a way to earn XP for Starfinder Society characters while playing longer Starfinder adventures. That is the kind of infrastructure update that matters to monthly home groups, convention slots, and anyone running a steady event calendar.

The new story moves away from Akiton’s Sloughscar Hills and the Wreck of the Returned, where First Seeker Sarmak established a base and Starfinders were sent to investigate the crash. Instead, the season turns to Absalom Station, where blood is raining from above, bloodspawned monsters are threatening the population, and a villainous foe with followers sits behind the mystery. Paizo says the new arc may also reveal clues about the Gap and the fate of lost Golarion, giving the transition a bigger payoff than a simple change of scenery.

That continuity is what gives the announcement weight. Starfinder Society is built as a worldwide living campaign, playable at local stores, conventions, and online, so a season-ending post is never just housekeeping. It is the signal that the program still has a schedule, a story, and a next chapter, with Jessica Catalan steering the line as Starfinder Society Developer and Matt Duvall opening the new one.
