Boca West Country Club Unveils $20 Million Pickleball and Racquets Facility
Boca West Country Club's $20 million racquets complex is nearly complete, with 25 pickleball courts, a stadium court, and a pickleball-only pro shop arriving this May.

Boca West Country Club is putting the finishing touches on its newest major amenity: a $20 million Racquets Facility featuring a new Pickleball Center, scheduled for completion in May 2026. With the club growing from 14 courts to 25, the investment represents the most significant expansion of racquet infrastructure in the club's history.
Twelve of the new courts will be covered, ensuring the Florida sun or a passing afternoon shower won't interrupt a rally. Underground drainage is already in place across all courts, and conduit has been installed to support future lighting and sound systems. With these essentials complete, crews have been pouring concrete and setting footers for fence poles and covered court structures. The covered courts will sit beneath a 20-foot-tall ceiling, according to Palm Beach Post reporting on the construction progress.
The demand justifying this kind of spend is not abstract. Rob Norton, Director of Racquet Sports at Boca West, put a number to it: as many as 300 people a day now play pickleball at the club, roughly twice the number of tennis players. "Boca West has a long-standing history and the rich tradition of bringing the very best amenities to our members," said Matthew Linderman, CCM, President and COO of Boca West Country Club. "We consistently exceed our members' expectations in terms of sports, recreation, dining, and wellness, as well as the wide range of amenities and lifestyle options available."
Adjacent to the new Pickleball Building, the Stadium Pickleball Court will feature a wraparound terrace, spectator seating, and an Event Lawn designed for post-match gatherings and special events. The new Pickleball Building will offer bathrooms, showers, and a Pro Shop stocked with leading paddle brands, apparel, and gear. Norton framed the pro shop as a point of distinction: "We will be the only country club in the county with a dedicated pickleball pro shop. And as for those national tournaments, we expect to feature A-list players for our members to watch."
Norton's confidence about the club's standing was equally direct. "As far as keeping up with the Joneses," he said, "we believe that we are the Joneses."
Boca West's new complex features 25 pickleball courts and 24 tennis courts, with 12 courts covered for year-round play. A larger Tennis Stadium Court will debut with west-side stadium-style seating, offering a more polished stage for member matches and hosting national tournaments. With irrigation, drainage systems, and fencing already in place, those courts are nearly ready for their new Har-Tru Hydro clay surface.
The pickleball facility is one piece of a broader capital push at Boca West. The Pickleball Center follows several transformative enhancements, including a $70 million, 110,000-square-foot, fully renovated two-story Lifestyle Center, and a 96,000-square-foot Aquatic Complex featuring five resort-style pools and a new poolside restaurant bar. The club also announced plans to renovate its 153,000-square-foot Golf & Activities Center over the next two summers.
The Palm Beach Royals are a new expansion team in Major League Pickleball set to debut in 2026. Norton indicated that the Royals will practice at Boca West's new center part of the time, with members able to watch sessions from a newly built grandstand. The arrangement would put professional-level play in front of the more than 6,000 members who use Boca West's facilities across its nearly 3,500 residences.
Buy-in fees have climbed steeply in recent years, Norton noted, but he sees no ceiling in sight: the market doesn't correct until supply exceeds demand, and in Boca Raton's pickleball scene, that crossover hasn't come close to happening yet.
