Buxmont Pickleball Club in Horsham Sets Grand Opening for March 28
Joel Block spent three years building Buxmont Pickleball Club from scratch — and the 10,000-square-foot Horsham facility is throwing its grand opening March 28.

Three years after owner Joel Block broke ground on an idea born out of retirement, Buxmont Pickleball Club is ready to make it official. The 10,000-square-foot indoor facility at 1250 Easton Road in Horsham Township will hold its grand opening on March 28, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony co-hosted by the Greater BucksMont Chamber of Commerce.
Block built the place from scratch, which is rarer than it sounds in the pickleball world. "Wall ground. You don't see that too often," he told the Pickleball is Life YouTube channel during an October 2025 walkthrough of the facility. The purpose-built design shows in the specs: five indoor courts with 30-foot ceilings, a height that clears most pickleball facilities by a notable margin, plus modern divider barriers between courts and a large viewing mezzanine for spectators. A pro shop and changing areas round out the amenity list.
The courts have already been in use since a soft opening in December. Block's motivation for the whole project was deeply personal. "I've been retired. I wanted something to keep my mind and body and brain working, right? And I thought what could be more fun than playing pickleball? Hence the reason this is here," he said in the same video interview.
His vision for the club goes beyond just court time. "I'm looking to create a community of people who love to be around other people. It's an exceptionally social activity, and that's to me a huge piece in creating a facility," Block previously told Burb Media. The club's own website frames the mission plainly: "inclusive of players of all ages and skill levels," with a focus on "health, social interaction through organized recreational play and community events that build a vibrant Pickleball community."
Programming reflects that range, covering beginner and intermediate open play, formal instruction for higher-level players, clinics, round robins, and socials. The facility will also be available to host birthday parties, charity fundraisers, youth play days, and themed social mixers. Discounted Founders Memberships are expected to become available in July.
The club is positioned to draw players from both Montgomery and Bucks counties. Sources have reported conflicting start times for the March 28 grand opening ceremony, with two outlets listing noon to 2 p.m. and a third listing 5 to 7 p.m.; prospective attendees should confirm the schedule directly with the club at play@buxpickleball.com before heading to 1250 Easton Rd, Horsham, PA 19044.
