DUPR adds subscores, career high markers, and match forecasting tools

DUPR gave players more than a single number: mixed-doubles and age-based subscores, a career high marker, and Forecast tools to preview rating swings.

DUPR’s latest update tried to solve the problem players complain about most: one number that is supposed to explain too much. The April 21 rollout added Mixed Doubles Rating, age-based doubles ratings for players 50+ and 65+, a Career High marker, and DUPR Impact inside the Forecast tab, giving players a fuller read on where they actually fit before they step into a bracket, a retreat, or a partner search.

That matters because trust in pickleball ratings lives and dies on context. A player who looks like a 4.3 in open doubles may perform very differently in mixed, and a 65-plus player may not want to be compared with the same lens as a younger partner grinding through open-age events. The new subscores separate those lanes instead of forcing every result into one snapshot. DUPR also said the app now highlights key stats directly on player profiles, which should make it easier to check a number at a glance instead of digging through match history.

The practical use case is simple. Before entering an event, a player can open a profile, compare the overall rating with the mixed-doubles line and any age-based doubles rating, then look at the Career High to see whether recent swings are actually a dip or just a return to a more ordinary level. If a scoreline feels risky, the Forecast tab lets the player run scenarios through DUPR Impact and see how different results could move the rating before the match is even played. That is the kind of transparency club directors and retreat organizers have been asking for when they try to place players into ladders, clinics, or round robins that feel fair.

The update also lands inside a system that already touches a huge part of the sport. USA Pickleball says DUPR is the official exclusive rating system used across all USA Pickleball-owned events, and says ratings help with event placement, fair competition, and tracking improvement over time. DUPR says its network now spans more than 12,000 clubs in 183 countries and has logged more than 10 million matches, while also noting that one match can create a rating and that 10 to 20 results make it more accurate. With Champions Series Pickleball adopting DUPR on April 2 and PB Vision adding single-match rating entry on April 13, the new subscores and forecasting tools push the platform closer to becoming the sport’s daily trust layer, not just its scorekeeper.
