Open Play Pickleball Opens Climate-Controlled 14-Court Facility in Florham Park March 28
Open Play Pickleball announced a flagship, climate-controlled indoor center at 8 Fernwood Road, Florham Park, with 14 professional-grade cushioned courts and a public grand opening March 28.

Open Play Pickleball announced on March 7, 2026 it will open a flagship, climate-controlled indoor facility at 8 Fernwood Road in Florham Park, New Jersey, and will hold a public grand opening on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The center is billed as a year-round venue and will feature 14 professional-grade cushioned courts, a layout intended to reduce weather-related cancellations and sparse court availability.
Jeff Pzena, founder of Open Play Pickleball, framed the project around accessibility and community. “Our mission is right in our name: we want to make it easy for people to just show up and play,” said Jeff Pzena, founder of Open Play Pickleball. “Whether you are a seasoned pro or picking up a paddle for the first time, we’ve built a community-focused environment where capacity is never an issue and the social aspect of the game is front and center.”
Morrisfocus reporting on the facility notes programming will include a variety of options and flexible play windows, and that the center intends to support the local pickleball community by providing court availability for independent instructors. Coaches will be able to host lessons during prime evening and weekend hours, and a limited number of Founding Memberships are currently available, offering early access and special benefits to players who sign up before or at the grand opening. The public is invited to visit the facility beginning March 28, and Open Play Pickleball has directed interested players to its website for bookings and Founding Membership details.

The Florham Park opening arrives amid a broader wave of indoor pickleball expansions across the country. CityPickle has promoted a Manhattan flagship in the Paramount Building at 1501 Broadway, a first year-round Manhattan club with seven indoor courts, 18-foot ceilings, and 37,000 square feet that will include CityPickle headquarters and a full-service bar and restaurant with showers. CityPickle’s Boca project, announced June 12, 2025 as Boca Paddle by CityPickle, will offer 25 courts, split between 19 pickleball and six padel courts. Meanwhile Pickleball Kingdom is developing a Roseville, California location at 10251 Fairway Drive, a 32,900-square-foot venue slated to open in spring 2026 with 11 professional-grade indoor courts; franchisees Parminder Saini, Komal Saini, and Megan Cohill announced the project and Parminder Saini said, “This facility will enrich the Roseville area by creating an inclusive space where people can play, connect, and enjoy themselves.”
Open Play’s March 28 grand opening will be the first public test of Pzena’s promise that a 14-court, climate-controlled facility at 8 Fernwood Road can remove the common challenge of finding available courts and provide consistent playing opportunities year-round. If the programming and coach access described in the announcement hold true, Florham Park will gain a sizable indoor hub for social play, lessons, and weekend prime-time sessions.
