Paddleworks Opens in Lebanon, Bringing Year-Round Indoor Pickleball to Upper Valley
A former FedEx building now holds six climate-controlled courts, giving the Upper Valley a true year-round pickleball base. That setup could make Lebanon a new retreat stop for traveling players.

Paddleworks has turned a former FedEx building in Lebanon into something the Upper Valley did not have before: a dedicated indoor pickleball destination with six climate-controlled courts built for year-round play. In a region where weather can shut down outdoor plans fast, that is more than a new place to dink. It is an indoor anchor that could change whether Lebanon works as a stop for traveling players, retreat weekends and small camps.
The club’s location gives it an immediate regional edge. It sits in the heart of Lebanon, just off I-89 and minutes from I-91, which puts it within easy reach of players coming from both New Hampshire and Vermont. That matters in a market where pickleball has exploded in popularity over the last two years across the Upper Valley. When a sport grows that quickly, the next question is not just how many courts are open, but whether a destination can keep players on site for more than a single session. Paddleworks is built to do that.

Valley News said the facility offers clinics, tournaments and programming for players of all levels, and later noted that the club would include a pro shop and a fitness area. That mix pushes it beyond casual court rental. It gives visiting groups the pieces they need for a more complete retreat format: lessons for newer players, organized play for intermediates, competitive events for stronger players and on-site gear and training space that keeps a full-day schedule moving. For retreat planners, that kind of structure is often what separates a one-off play stop from a multi-day getaway.
The timing also shows how quickly the project moved from concept to public play. New Hampshire trade-name records show Paddleworks Pickleball Club was registered on Nov. 21, 2025, at 41 N. Labombard Rd. in Lebanon. A Demo Day listing showed soft-opening play on April 24, 2026, and Valley News said the club was set to fully open later in May. That gives the new club a launch path of roughly five and a half months from registration to full public rollout.

For the Upper Valley, the larger change is straightforward. Paddleworks adds a purpose-built indoor option in a smaller destination that can now sell reliability as much as access. In shoulder season, when outdoor courts become a gamble, six climate-controlled courts inside a former freight building could be enough to pull players in from across the region and make Lebanon a more credible four-season pickleball retreat market.
