Organisers confirmed the Pickleball World Cup 2026 will run from August 30 through September 6, but the location remains publicly unsettled, with reporting split between an announcement that the host city has not yet been revealed and a separate claim placing the event in Da Nang, Vietnam.

The conflict between sources emerged in mid- to late-March. Tuoi Tre News, a Vietnamese outlet, published coverage on March 23 asserting that Da Nang will host the week-long tournament. On the same day, a Times Now report noted that "the host city for the upcoming edition is yet to be revealed, keeping anticipation high ahead of the sport's biggest international event." Neither account cited a named organising body or linked to a formal press release, leaving the Da Nang claim unverified by an independent second source.

If Da Nang is confirmed, it would mark the event's first host city in Asia, a milestone that several outlets have flagged as significant. The 2025 edition was staged in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where more than 60 nations competed, and the tournament earned its second consecutive nomination for Best International Tournament at the DINK Awards.

India's showing in Fort Lauderdale gave the sport's growing international community one of its most talked-about storylines. The country finished seventh overall and collected 25 medals, its best performance to date. The junior team secured a bronze medal, and the delegation earned the "Best Delegation – Juniors" award. Veer Shah was named Most Valuable Player in the juniors category, while Anushka Chhabria won four medals across the tournament.

India has not yet named its squad for the 2026 edition, and the host city announcement will likely trigger the formal start of national selection processes across competing federations. With the August 30 start date now fixed, teams have roughly five months to finalise rosters once the location is confirmed.

The immediate question for the pickleball calendar is whether organisers will formally designate a host city before national teams begin their qualification planning in earnest. Until an official statement surfaces, Da Nang remains a possibility, not a certainty.
