Seven Titles Decided at England's Mark Bates Ltd National Championships in Nottingham
Ho, a seven-time national champion, fought back from 0-1 down to lead Pashley 3-1 as seven titles were settled in Nottingham on March 22.

Finals Day of the Mark Bates Ltd National Championships delivered seven national titles across a packed Sunday in Nottingham, with Table Tennis England streaming the entire day live on YouTube from 9.30am as the country's best players competed across Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and two Para classes.
Sophie Earley opened the day in emphatic fashion. She and Tianer Yu took to court for Women's Singles Semi-Final 1 just before the stream began, and when play started at 9.30am it was Earley who struck first. She never let go. By 9.34am she had stormed to a 9-1 lead and closed out the first game 11-4. The second game shifted the momentum: by 9.39am Yu had clawed back to lead 8-4 and was, in the words of the live commentary, "starting to find her game."
The morning's other standout sequence involved a contest between Pashley and Ho, the defending champion and seven-time national title holder. Pashley made the sharper start, taking the opening game 11-5. Ho responded with what the live updates called "a dominating performance" in the second game, winning it 11-3 to level at 1-1. The third game was tighter: Ho edged it 11-9 to lead 2-1. She then took the fourth 11-7, moving to 3-1 and within a single game of reaching yet another final. Throughout, Pashley refused to go quietly, the commentary noting she was "certainly taking it to the seven-time champion here, not backing away from her shots and making Ho work for every point she gets."

Finals Day also coincided with Table Tennis England naming its squad for the World Championships, with both news items appearing under Paul Stimpson's byline on the same afternoon.
