TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau extends Sam Walker's contract early for another season

TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau confirmed an early, one-year extension with Sam Walker, prolonging the 30-year-old English international's stay at the Brexbachtal club for another season. The move was publicised on Feb. 26, 2026 and presented by the club and league as part of their ongoing personnel planning.

TTC chairman Olaf Gstettner underlined Walker's role in the squad in the club's press release republished on the TTBL site, saying, "Sam is immensely important to us - both athletically and personally." Gstettner added that Walker is "a valuable member of our team, both in singles and doubles. In addition, he takes responsibility, exemplifies professionalism and is an important mentor for our younger players."

Walker himself emphasised continuity and development in his comments included in the press release and shown on the TTBL editorial page. "I feel very comfortable in Grenzau and am delighted to continue being part of this team," Sam Walker said, adding that "we have an exciting mix in the team, and I want to make my contribution - in singles, doubles and also off the table. At the same time, I want to develop further as an athlete and grow in my role." Walker referenced "the coming season in Brexbachtal" in his statement.
