Ras-I and Khalia Redefine Home as Emotional Safety in New Single
Ras-I and Khalia dropped "Home" on March 20, a roots reggae single that reframes love as emotional refuge, with Ras-I saying "peace, clarity and security are vital."

Ras-I and Khalia delivered a more grounded take on love with "Home," released March 20, a single that frames the emotion not just as romance but as emotional safety, presence, and peace. Built around themes of reassurance and connection, the track speaks to the quiet, everyday moments that define meaningful relationships, even across distance.
For Ras-I, the concept of home extends well beyond a physical place. "Home to me is anywhere I feel at peace and wherever my heart feels full," he shared. The inspiration came from a personal place: "I just thought about my everyday conversations with my empress and the things I'd say and do to be present," Ras-I explained. The message at the song's core is direct: "Love is not just about lust. Peace, clarity and security are vital," he added.
The collaboration with Khalia came together organically in the studio, with both artists contributing to the writing process and shaping the song's direction together. Khalia described how it unfolded: "The way Ras-I presented it, he wrote his verse and wanted us to build the rest together. It felt like a well-thought-out concept that I was adding to." She added that her connection to the song has evolved since its creation. "At the time, I wasn't in true love, so I wrote it based on what I imagined love to feel like, which is safe and secure. Now, years later, I can relate to it because I'm experiencing that kind of love."
The vocal chemistry between the two is something Khalia takes pride in: "I think our voices blend really well, and we work well as a team. No ego, just great music." Ras-I has emphasized authenticity as a core part of his songwriting throughout. "All my love songs are from real-life situations because that's how the listener can truly relate," he said.
The single is part of Ras-I's upcoming third studio album Heart of Love and was produced by Koastal Kings' Keniel Drumz, who also played drums on the track, alongside Nnamdi Robinson on guitar, Oniel 'Keys' Dacres on keyboard, and Joshua Jones on bass. The album is expected to further define Ras-I's place within the modern reggae landscape, continuing to explore themes of love, spirituality, and human connection through a contemporary sonic lens. Heart of Love is due May 15.
"Home" follows a string of singles from the album rollout, including "These Are The Days" with Kabaka Pyramid, as well as "Forever and Always," "Hear My Call," and "Reggae Mountain." For Ras-I, exploring love and vulnerability is an intentional part of building a deeper connection with listeners: "It's important to show people different sides of me and develop genuine relationships with my community," he said.
"Home" is now available on all major streaming platforms.
