Shaggy Announces New Album Lottery, Drops Single Featuring Robin Thicke

Shaggy's Lottery arrived with the kind of guest list that signals ambition rather than nostalgia: Robin Thicke on the lead single, Sting on one track, Beres Hammond and Dexta Daps sharing a riddim, and Akon and Aidonia on another. The album drops May 15 through VP Records and Ranch Entertainment, and the rollout that preceded its announcement already had the community paying attention.

The lead single, "Looking Lovely" featuring Robin Thicke, landed March 13 alongside a companion music video directed by ILMATO. The track blends Shaggy's unmistakable Caribbean cadence with Thicke's smooth R&B sensibility, delivering an infectious, feel-good anthem that reflects the album's spirit of confidence and celebration. As Reggaeville put it, "Looking Lovely sets the tone for Lottery: rhythm-forward, globally minded, and unapologetically hybrid."

That tone was already taking shape before the official announcement. "Dancehall Nice," pairing Shaggy with reggae legend Beres Hammond and dancehall star Dexta Daps, surfaced February 27 as the second track released from the project and quickly became a fan favorite. "Til A Mawnin" with Sting and "Boom Body" featuring Akon and Aidonia had also preceded the official rollout, building momentum across the Caribbean and global music scenes.

Much of Lottery was produced by Shaggy and longtime collaborator Shane Hoosong, a partnership that has shaped several of his recent projects. Shaggy is managed by Martin Kierszenbaum of Cherrytree Music Company.

The album title carries the weight of three decades of creative risk. The press release framed it plainly: Lottery captures the philosophy that has defined Shaggy's career, "always bet on yourself." That bet has paid out before. Hot Shot remains the highest-ranked album by a Caribbean artist on Billboard's Top 200 Albums of the 21st Century. He has scored four number-one UK singles, eight Billboard Hot 100 entries, and two Grammy wins for Best Reggae Album: Boombastic in 1996 and 44/876 with Sting in 2019. Press materials describe him as a diamond-selling artist with over 40 million albums sold.

Lottery will be available on all major streaming platforms on May 15.
