Shatta Wale and John Legend Unite for Reggae-Tinged Single "Ain't Nobody"
John Legend brought his buttery R&B vocals to Shatta Wale's '90s reggae cadence on "Ain't Nobody," out now via Fantasy Entertainment Group.

John Legend singing about love over guitars and brass while Shatta Wale sing-chats in a '90s reggae cadence is not a combination anyone predicted — and that surprise is exactly what makes "Ain't Nobody" land.
The track dropped March 20 via Fantasy Entertainment Group, executive produced by Leslie Quaynor and co-written by both artists alongside Rob Murat, who also co-produced with Sean Kantrowitz. It serves as the official lead single for Shatta Wale's forthcoming studio album, currently slated for a fall 2026 release.
Billboard captured the sonic contrast cleanly: Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., chants "Gyal you are mi happiness/ Still mi love your snappiness/ You the girl weh me wanted to know me when no one else/ Making love to you and you say boy mi love your scrappiness" over a soulful mélange of guitars and brass, before Legend steps into the chorus with "Who gon' give it to you/ Like I give it to you/ Don't get it confused/ Ain't nobody." The arrangement bridges reggae and R&B through their shared territory: love songs.
Shatta Wale announced the collaboration on March 12 via Facebook, addressing the Shatta Movement directly: "Ain't Nobody — dropping officially on 20th March! Shatta Movement I got this beautiful RnB mixed with Reggae sound for you from our own brother from another mother 'JOHN LEGEND' #SM4LYF #GODISHERE." The post included the single's cover artwork and immediately stirred buzz across the fanbase.

The pairing carries weight on both sides. Shatta Wale, widely known as the Dancehall King, has built his international résumé through collaborations with Beyoncé, Bounty Killer, Vybz Kartel, Gramps Morgan, and Shenseea. His most prominent crossover moment remains "Already," the 2019 cut from Beyoncé's The Lion King: The Gift. Legend, for his part, is an EGOT winner with 13 Grammy Awards from more than 40 nominations, bringing his established soul and R&B credentials into dancehall territory for the first time at this scale.
That boundary-crossing is the real story here. As one correspondent put it, Legend's willingness to venture into dancehall territory underscores the genre's growing prominence in mainstream global music. With a full album still to come this fall, "Ain't Nobody" positions Shatta Wale's 2026 as his most internationally ambitious year yet.
