The Wailers Launch 2026 Tour Celebrating 50 Years of Rastaman Vibration
The Wailers kick off their 50 Years of Positive Vibrations tour in Japan this month, marking half a century since Rastaman Vibration reshaped reggae worldwide.

The Wailers have launched their 50 Years of Positive Vibrations tour, a global run honoring the 50th anniversary of Rastaman Vibration, the landmark 1976 Bob Marley & The Wailers album that carried "War," "Crazy Baldhead," and "Positive Vibration" to audiences across the world. The band, now led by Aston Barrett Jr., son of legendary bassist Aston "Familyman" Barrett, opened the tour in Japan with dates at Naha Art Theater in Okinawa on March 26, Duo Music Exchange in Tokyo on March 27, and Namba Hatch in Osaka on March 29.
From Japan, the tour moves through Australia before sweeping across North America and into Europe, with the run scheduled to continue through August 23, 2026. Major cities on the itinerary include Melbourne, Sydney, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Beyond the headline dates, the band is also set for festival appearances at Byron Bay Bluesfest, Dark Star Jubilee, Release Athens, and Rock N Roll Circus.
Released at a pivotal moment in reggae's global rise, Rastaman Vibration carried the genre's message of resistance, spirituality, and hope onto the world stage. The 2026 tour highlights select cuts from that album alongside the classic Wailers anthems that have united audiences across generations. Setlists are expected to weave together tracks like "Roots, Rock, Reggae" and "War" with material spanning the band's broader catalogue.
The Wailers are joined on this run by OK Vybe, Syster Sol, Niko Moon, and Thievery Corporation, the latter a longtime collaborative partner. The tour also serves as a platform for the band's own Grammy-nominated album, Evolution, extending the group's identity beyond pure heritage act into a working band with new music in the conversation.
For those catching the Madison, Wisconsin stop at Atwood Music Hall (1925 Winnebago St), doors open at 7PM with the show starting at 8PM. General admission tickets are $26 in advance or $31 day of show; reserved balcony seats run $40 advance and $45 at the door.
"50 Years of Positive Vibrations is more than a tour," the band's promotional materials state. "It's a celebration of music with meaning, a living connection between reggae's golden era and its continuing power to inspire unity, resilience, and hope." For a band founded in Kingston, Jamaica in 1963, that thread running from the original Wailers to Aston Barrett Jr.'s current lineup remains unbroken.
