Las Hijas de la Señora García may return with new chapters

José Alberto “El Güero” Castro has already addressed the future of Las Hijas de la Señora García after the telenovela became one of Televisa’s most successful hits of the past year. The real question is not whether the title worked, but whether the emotional wreckage still on screen is strong enough to justify a second season, sequel or spin-off.

People en Español framed the novela as something “different,” with “ADN turco” and an atypical protagonist in María Sorté, and that oddball mix is part of why the show still feels expandable. María Sorté, Ela Velden and Oka Giner anchor a story built on ambition, status and daughters who do not want the same future their mother has planned for them. Prime Video already labels the series as season 1, which only sharpens the sense that this was always built with franchise potential in mind.

The deepest unresolved fuel sits in the Valeria triangle. The story has been teased around Valeria’s feelings for Nicolás and Arturo, and the fandom logic around that pairing is exactly the kind of thing telenovela viewers keep revisiting. One of the clearest hooks in the public conversation was the alternative-ending chatter around who Valeria would choose, while other plot snippets show Arturo discovering Valeria and Nicolás’s romance, seeing a kiss video, and confronting his brother in anger. That is not disposable melodrama. That is the kind of emotional debt a continuation can cash in only if it follows the consequences, instead of pretending the triangle never happened.

The family side is just as open-ended. Ofelia’s obsession with luxury drives the plot from the start, pushing Mar toward auditions and pulling both daughters into a fight between comfort and self-determination. Valeria’s attempts to steer Mar away from choices she does not trust, including the tension around Mar’s plans with Don Luis, give the story a second layer beyond the romance: a mother trying to control the board, and daughters trying to escape it.

If this returns, fans would want a direct sequel or second season, not a random extension with the same setup and slightly altered names. The show’s best leverage is still the clash between Ofelia’s ambition, Mar’s trajectory and the Valeria-Nicolás-Arturo fallout. That is the engine that made Las Hijas de la Señora García feel alive, and it is the only engine strong enough to power new chapters without feeling forced.
