The latest public release, MCCC/MC Woohoo 2026.2.0, is out, and it carries the most significant structural changes to family tree handling that Deaderpool has shipped in years. The update has been tested to be working with all expansions and game packs up to Royalty & Legacy and the patch released March 23, 2026 on PC version 1.122.218.1030 and Mac version 1.122.218.1230.

The release is a direct response to the sweeping relationship system changes EA introduced with its February 3 patch. When Deaderpool pushed the compatibility hotfix 2026.1.1 two days later on February 5, the changelog flagged that non-critical items would be deferred: "There may still be some issues that I wasn't able to find in my testing, but unless they are critical, I won't be fixing them until the 2026.2.0 release." That deferred work now lands in full.

The command from the Sim Relationships menu that allowed adding family relation bits has been removed, since these are all dynamically cleared and added when a zone loads from the family tree data, making it no longer useful to add them directly on Sims. The Add Relationship functionality in the Sims Relationships menu has also been updated to work under the new family tree rules: if a Sim already has both parents, new parents cannot be added, and if Sims already have a significant other, they cannot be assigned another.

The "Delete Relationship" option under MCCC Relationships has also been removed, because EA's family tree changes no longer support deleting existing family relationships, and Deaderpool was told directly by EA developers that doing so could result in save file corruption.

The multi-spouse feature in MC Marriage is also gone for good. EA's new marriage system makes multiple spouses impossible; there were settings for it in MC Marriage but they will not work going forward, as EA specifically has code to prevent it and the family tree will not work correctly with multiple spouses now that married relationships are based on the family tree.

The headline addition for most players will be the new cleanup tool in MC Cleaner. Some cleanup may have to be done on existing saves due to the family tree changes, specifically to prevent games from locking up when opening a family tree, due to the no-multiple-relationships rules. Deaderpool added code to the neighborhood cleanup in MC Cleaner so that if Sims are related but also spouses, the spouse relationship is cleared to maintain the family relationship and keep the dialog functional. This cleanup only affects saves where spouses are also related to each other; it will do nothing for anyone else. The new setting controlling this is "Clean-up Multi-Relations" under MCCC > MC Cleaner, and it is enabled by default, though players can turn it off if they want to leave those relationships untouched. Players who do disable it, however, will not be able to open family tree dialogs on those affected Sims.

This cleanup setting is directly connected to the midnight game lock-up issue that players reported after the February 3 EA patch. At the time, Deaderpool traced the cause to EA's own function for adding a spouse and passed the details to an EA developer contact, noting it appeared linked to pre-generated gallery households. The 2026.2.0 family tree enforcement and cleanup tooling address the underlying conditions that triggered those freezes.

The release has been tested with all game packs through Royalty & Legacy and the March 23, 2026 patch, and Deaderpool notes it will work with subsequent Sims 4 updates unless otherwise specified in later posts. The full changelog, installation instructions, and troubleshooting documentation are all available through Deaderpool's official channels.
