A user-created household named "NPC Children Townies" depicting a Sim resembling Jeffrey Epstein alongside seven child Sims dressed in bathrobes and towels was removed from The Sims 4 Gallery by EA after Reddit users flagged and circulated screenshots of the content on March 3, 2026.

Reddit user u/Odysseusford first highlighted the upload, which quickly drew widespread outrage from players who described the imagery as deeply inappropriate. Community members noted that the content had already received downloads before EA acted, with one Reddit user writing, "There has been downloads which is a bit concerning."

Mindy_SimsCommunity, who appears to be a community manager for The Sims, responded directly in the Reddit thread: "Hey folks, Mindy from The Sims community team. I wanted to make sure I commented here to say this content is wholly unacceptable and our team has removed it." The post also outlined potential consequences for policy violations, quoting EA's enforcement language: "If we detect content that violates our User Agreement and Positive Play Charter, we may take a number of enforcement actions, including removing the content and the player's access to certain or all EA Services." Players were directed to use the "Flag This" button within the Gallery to report similar content.

An EA spokesperson separately confirmed the removal to Kotaku, stating: "This content is wholly unacceptable, and our team has removed it."

The incident exposed gaps that remain even after EA's response. Other Epstein-themed uploads were still accessible on the Gallery following the removal, including one featuring characters resembling Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell with the caption "They're great with kids." Epstein was first convicted in 2008 for soliciting a minor; Maxwell was later convicted of trafficking charges related to their alleged joint operation.

The Gallery's moderation record has drawn repeated criticism. The platform processes thousands of user creations daily, yet racist caricatures, war criminal recreations, and other policy-violating households have surfaced with enough regularity to become a recognized pattern in the community. Simscommunity, which covered the removal, declined to republish the image, noting that "an image preview of what was taken down can be seen on Reddit with appropriate NSFW content filter applied."

What remains unconfirmed is whether EA took any enforcement action against the uploader's account beyond deleting the content. Mindy's statement used the word "may" when referencing account restrictions, stopping short of confirming any suspension or ban had occurred. The number of times the household was downloaded before removal was also not disclosed.
