The mod that won GGMods’ Spring Madness Modathon for The Sims 4 was not a sprawling gameplay overhaul. That win came out of a monthlong contest that ran from April 13 through May 11 and spread across five games, including The Sims 4, Skyrim Special Edition, Fallout 4, Fallout: New Vegas and Stardew Valley. GGMods put $7,000 in cash prizes and $1,000 in game gift cards into the launch pool, then layered on weekly rewards for each eligible game, including prizes for the most thematic mod and the most downloaded mod. EA says mods and custom content are an important part of the game experience, but it also warns that creators may need time to update their work after a patch.
