LittleMsSam updates The Sims mod to separate container inventories

Invisible inventory bugs can quietly wreck a Sims 4 save long before they announce themselves, and LittleMsSam’s latest Objects don’t share Inventory update showed exactly why utility mods matter. The May 29, 2026 patch added a missing inventory type needed for the author’s Transfer Inventory apothecary-table update, tightening a chain of fixes that keeps storage, crafting, and household organization from slipping out of alignment.

The mod itself does one job with a lot of practical payoff: bookshelves, chests, and toyboxes no longer share inventories. That sounds minor until a family home, legacy lot, or story save needs each container to serve a different purpose. Shared storage can blur the line between a bookcase full of novels, a chest for keepsakes, and a toybox meant for one child’s room, while object-specific inventories keep each space readable and grounded in the way players actually build and play. The current CurseForge project page shows the mod has more than 106,000 downloads, a strong signal that this kind of behind-the-scenes maintenance has a large audience.

LittleMsSam also drew a hard line around fridges. The mod does not support them because changing shared fridge inventories can trigger errors, and the page points to The Sims 4: City Living as a concrete example of what can go wrong. In that expansion, street performers in San Myshuno may be unable to create their instruments if fridge inventories are altered. The mod page also warns players to empty affected inventories before installing or uninstalling updates, because the game can destroy items when inventory tuning changes.

The broader ecosystem around the mod explains why this small patch matters so much. Transfer Inventory adds new pie-menu interactions for fridges, bookshelves, chests, flower arranging tables, gemology tables, and the apothecary table, but the apothecary-table transfer option only appears when Objects don’t share Inventory is installed. Transfer Inventory also requires XML Injector, and LittleMsSam’s Small Apothecary Overhaul depends on XML Injector too, which places this update inside a connected run of apothecary and storage fixes rather than a one-off tweak.
