Office Worker Sims 4 career mod gets stability fix, HR progression repair
A new v1.1 fix for dillmcgrath’s Office Worker mod repairs the HR ladder and blocks duplicate phone prompts when Office Worker 2.0 is installed.

For Sims players who built office careers into the rhythm of a save, Office Worker v1.1v2026 is the kind of update that decides whether a mod feels safe to reinstall or too risky to trust. Released on May 2, 2026, the refresh is billed as a compatibility and stability pass for dillmcgrath’s original career mod, with the biggest practical win being a repaired HR progression path and cleaner behavior under the current Sims 4 patch environment.
The changelog goes straight to the pain points. It fixes a phone interaction injection crash, renames Annual Leave to Ask for a Day Off, repairs broken phone balloon tuning, and corrects the HR branch so Director of HR now moves properly into the C-Suite track. That matters for saves where the career was not a side hustle but a central progression system, especially for players who wanted their Sims climbing from intern life toward Finance, Marketing, or HR leadership with boardroom outcomes like CMO, CFO, and CHRO. The update also adds a safety guard so Office Worker 1.1 does not inject phone interactions when Office Worker 2.0 is already installed, a useful layer of protection for mixed-version setups.
The timing fits the broader Sims 4 climate. Electronic Arts has spent much of 2026 emphasizing stability, performance, and less gameplay friction in its Quality of Life Roadmap 2026, which said the March fix batch would bring around 55 fixes and cover 7 of the top 10 player-reported issues. EA also pushed out an April 16 update that brought Marketplace to PlayStation and Xbox while addressing stability issues, followed by an April 28 patch aimed at Gallery filter problems, soft locks, and console Marketplace bugs. In that kind of patch-heavy environment, even a small career mod needs maintenance to stay usable.
Office Worker 2.0, published on April 30, 2026, raises the stakes further. CurseForge describes it as a professional corporate career system that guides Sims from entry-level roles to executive leadership across multiple business sectors, which helps explain why v1.1 needs to avoid double-injecting phone interactions if both versions are present. The original Office Worker career had already been live on CurseForge by March 1, 2025, where it centered on Marketing, Finance, and HR and originally topped out at Chairperson of the Board. The newer page says the mod has passed 2.1K downloads, while the update listing showed 231 downloads shortly after release. For office-save players, v1.1 does not add flash; it restores confidence.
