The Sims 4 Marketplace launched on PC and Mac on March 17, 2026, and SimMattically had an answer ready almost immediately. Refreshed Main Menu 3.1 became available for free on Patreon, with SimMattically announcing the build on March 18. The update didn't overhaul the entire interface. Instead, it zeroed in on one specific annoyance: the Marketplace clutter now plastered across the Home screen every time the game launches.

Refreshed Main Menu 3.1 is a new version of the well-known mod by Simmattically, updated to reflect the recent changes introduced with The Marketplace. Rather than completely redesigning the interface, this version focuses on subtle but impactful adjustments, especially when it comes to decluttering the Home screen.

The headline feature is context-sensitive hiding. The Virtual Currency Wallet will only appear while in the Marketplace tab, and the Download Manager button will only appear while in the Marketplace tab. That means your Moola balance stops greeting you every time you boot the game. It's only visible when you've actively chosen to open the Marketplace. For players who have no intention of spending Moola, that's a meaningful difference from the stock experience, where the persistent wallet balance and new UI elements tied to in-game purchases make the main menu feel more connected to a live service environment.

The mod also further tweaked promotional notifications to ensure they don't appear, and made the alternative The Sims 4 logo optional. Beyond the Marketplace-specific fixes, the mod includes a variety of quality-of-life improvements that enhance the overall presentation of the interface. Players can customize background images, reroll scenes, adjust or hide their household display, and even remove news panels and notifications for a cleaner experience.

The scene reroll in particular is worth calling out: you can reroll the current background by clicking the button in the bottom left corner or pressing the R key, and you can toggle the household image and news section by clicking their respective buttons in the bottom left, or by pressing the F key and S key. The household portrait is also repositionable now: you can click and drag the family portrait to reposition it for better alignment with the background.

The mod also introduces visual tweaks such as sharper household images, alternative logos, and fixes for UI issues like the blue overlay glitch. Altogether, these additions make the main menu feel more customizable, less cluttered, and far more aligned with how players actually want to experience The Sims 4.

One compatibility note worth knowing before you install: Refreshed Main Menu 3.1 is not compatible with other main menu overrides, and other custom main menus won't merge with the mod if placed in the Mods folder. If you're running a different main menu override alongside it, one will need to go. At the time of publishing, the mod may also cause conflict with other mods that remove UI elements, such as the Marketplace Removal Tool by Just_Joe_, with a compatibility patch possibly coming in the future.

Refreshed Main Menu 3.1 is available for free on SimMattically's Patreon. For anyone who has grown tired of their Moola balance being the first thing they see at launch, the two-minute install is worth it.
