Sims 4 mod unlocks bucket list goal for all adult Sims

Amethyst Lilac’s Unlock Specific Bucket List Goals for All gave Sims 4 storytellers a cleaner way to steer one of Life & Death’s most restrictive journal goals. The tiny tuning mod opened Write the Perfect Goal to all Sims who are young adult or older, instead of leaving it locked behind the Chased by Death trait or certain life experiences.

The practical win is bigger than the name suggests. The goal became available in the Life & Death journal, the Parenthood journal interface, and on computers, which matters for players building legacy saves, challenge runs, or carefully scripted story saves. Instead of waiting for the game to hand a Sim the right trait or event flag, players could decide for themselves which Sims were ambitious, reflective, or drawn to the supernatural logic of a Bucket List arc.

That kind of control fits neatly inside the way The Sims 4 Life & Death Expansion Pack is designed. Electronic Arts says the pack launched on October 31, 2024, and that Bucket Lists begin in the Young Adult life stage. EA also says bucket-list items can appear based on a Sim’s traits and family relations, while players can choose their own goals as well. In EA Help’s breakdown of Soul’s Journey, the system is split between a Bucket List and Unfinished Business, with progress advancing through Bucket List goals, aspiration tiers, midlife crises, New Year’s resolutions, and Wants.

The restriction Amethyst Lilac targeted was especially narrow. Community guides note that Sims with the Chased by Death trait can write Perfect Goals whenever they have space on their bucket list, and that trait is part of Life & Death’s larger system. By relaxing that gate, the mod turned a premium narrative lever into something more usable for non-occult households, challenge saves, and players who want a family dynasty to feel self-directed instead of mechanically pre-scripted.

The compatibility notes were just as useful as the unlock itself. The mod page said it should not conflict with anything because it overrides nothing, and it also preserved progress for teen Sims who already had specific goals unlocked on computers. That detail matters for saves already in motion, because it lets existing stories keep their momentum while widening the pool of Sims who can use the goal going forward.
