Raymond Isaac Carmona Arrested After Mansfield Homicide, Child Recovered in AMBER Alert
Raymond Isaac Carmona, 20, was arrested in Missouri after an interstate AMBER Alert, accused of fatally stabbing 63-year-old Andrea Colgrove at her Cotton Drive home and fleeing with a 4-year-old child; the child was recovered safe.

Raymond Isaac Carmona, 20, of Mansfield, Texas, was taken into custody in Missouri after investigators say he fatally stabbed 63-year-old Andrea Colgrove at a home on the 200 block of Cotton Drive and fled with a 4-year-old child, triggering an interstate AMBER Alert on Jan. 31, 2026. Mansfield police charged Carmona with murder, aggravated kidnapping and theft of property (motor vehicle).
Mansfield officers were dispatched after a family member found Andrea Colgrove unresponsive on the floor at about 8:50 a.m., police and local reports say. Emergency medical personnel pronounced Colgrove dead at the scene; the Tarrant County Medical Examiner later determined the cause of death was a stab wound to the neck and ruled the death a homicide.
Authorities issued a multi-state AMBER Alert after investigators determined a vehicle had been taken from the residence. The car was entered into state and national law enforcement databases as a reported stolen vehicle; The Independent identified it as a tan 2009 Toyota Corolla. KDFW reported that "A multi-state AMBER Alert led to Carmona’s arrest in Missouri just seven minutes after the broadcast, thanks to license plate tracking technology," though other outlets said the vehicle was located shortly after the alert and placed the arrest at approximately 2:40 p.m. on the same day.
Missouri law enforcement located the Corolla with Carmona and the 4-year-old inside and took Carmona into custody without incident, according to multiple reports. The child was recovered safe in the vehicle and later released into the care of Child Protective Services. Mansfield Police Department credited Missouri and Arkansas Highway Patrols for assistance and in a statement said, "This case is a powerful example of law enforcement professionals across state lines working together to protect our communities and diligently serve victims of crime."

Mansfield detectives traveled to Missouri and interviewed Carmona there; KDFW and CBS reported that "investigators said he admitted to his involvement in his mother's death." Carmona was indicted by a grand jury on Feb. 6 on counts of murder, aggravated kidnapping and theft of property, and he remains held at the Tarrant County Jail. The Independent reports a combined bond of $1,007,500, while other outlets describe his bond as over $1 million. His first court appearance was scheduled for Feb. 23 in Tarrant County.
Media accounts differ on the child's relationship to Colgrove: The Independent reports officers learned Colgrove had legal guardianship of her grandson, while CBS noted Mansfield PD did not specify Carmona's relationship to the child. Investigations into the killing and the interstate response remain ongoing as Carmona awaits proceedings in Tarrant County.
