Warrant Filed After Ellicott City Woman Found Dead in Columbia Apartment

Howard County police executed a search warrant on Jan. 3 at an apartment in the 10100 block of Twin Rivers Road in Columbia and discovered the body of 27-year-old Nikitha Godishala of Ellicott City. Godishala had been reported missing on Jan. 2 after last being seen on Dec. 31, 2025. Investigators say the victim suffered stab wounds and that detectives believe the killing took place shortly after 7 p.m. on Dec. 31.

Police have obtained a warrant charging 26-year-old Arjun Sharma of Columbia with first- and second-degree murder. Investigators say Sharma reported Godishala missing on Jan. 2 and left the United States the same day on a flight to India. Howard County Police said they are coordinating with federal authorities to locate and arrest Sharma; the investigation remains active.
