Eldegarde v1.0 Launches on Steam with PvE Mode, New Paladin Class
Notorious Studios released Eldegarde v1.0 on Steam, adding a PvE mode and a new Paladin class so players can enjoy extraction RPG gameplay without PvP pressure.

Notorious Studios pushed Eldegarde out of Early Access and launched version 1.0 on Steam, delivering a major update that alters how players approach the game's extraction RPG loop. The 1.0 release, rolled out around January 21–22, 2026, adds a dedicated PvE mode and introduces the Paladin class alongside existing Warrior, Rogue, Wizard, and Priest options.
The PvE mode is the headline change for many in the community. It lets players run loot runs and explore maps without the constant threat of PvP extraction encounters, effectively lowering entry barriers for solo players, streamers, and those who want to focus on hunting gear, builds, and lore rather than competitive extraction. For anyone who has felt the sting of contested extracts, the new mode provides a way to test loadouts and learn map flow in a less punishing environment.

Version 1.0 also brings polish and fresh maps that were shaped by community-driven Early Access feedback. Notorious Studios leaned on player reports and testing during the Early Access period to refine map layouts, tweak pacing, and improve general stability. That community input is visible in improved transitions, clearer objectives, and map choices intended to support both PvE and PvP playstyles.
The Paladin class expands character choice to five distinct roles. While specific class balances and abilities will continue to evolve post-launch, the addition provides another archetype for group compositions and solo strategies. Players who bought into Eldegarde during Early Access receive a free upgrade to v1.0, and the game is available for purchase on Steam for newcomers.
For current players the update changes the practical calculus of playing Eldegarde. PvE mode means you can grind materials and test meta builds without worrying about extraction pressure, which shortens the learning curve for advanced tactics and enables creators to showcase builds in uninterrupted runs. For PvP-focused players, the new maps and polish may shift engagement points and open new tactical options during contested encounters.
Eldegarde's move to 1.0 marks a transition from experimental Early Access to a more finished baseline product while keeping the community loop central to development. Expect further balance passes and map adjustments as players explore the Paladin and the PvE environment, and plan loadouts accordingly if you switch between PvP and PvE runs.
