Naruto video game adds playable Jiraiya in Sage Mode on May 29

Free access to Jiraiya in Sage Mode gave Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker a fresh reason for players to log back in. The May 29 update added DLC #48 as Master Character Training Pack #48, and Steam’s update notice marked the rollout as version 2.70.

Bandai Namco’s official breakdown casts Jiraiya as an aggressive defense type, a fitting call for a character who can hold ground while still pressing forward. His kit leans hard into Mount Myoboku flavor: the Two Great Sage Toads support his attacks, Sage Art: Bath of Boiling Oil unlocks at rank 2, Sage Art: Frog Song arrives at rank 4, and the Secret Technique at rank 5 is Demonic Illusion: Gamarinsho. Training rewards also include a Jiraiya Outfit: Young Ver., a hairstyle, a weapon, and an honorary title, giving players more than just a new slot on the select screen.

The timing also matters because this is not a one-off drop. Season Pass 10 is built around four Master Character Training Packs, numbered #48 through #51, with Jiraiya leading the stretch. The pass bonus is Secret Technique: Majestic Attire: Susano’o for Attack Type and Defense Type, and the official store pages say the DLC content will continue rolling out through March 2027. An April 23 roadmap post framed Season 10 as the return of the Special Master-Ninjutsu Training Season Pass, with the first DLC set for Spring 2026 and new season content still tied to weapons and items from Scroll Appraisal.
