Wartrakk returns in Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon box with new rules
The Wartrakk is back in Armageddon, complete with fresh rules, rokkit fire and a role straight out of the box for Ork players.

The Wartrakk’s return landed as the kind of reveal Ork players notice immediately: a classic ramshackle favorite is back in Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon, and its rules work straight from the box. For veteran green-skin commanders, collectors of older kits, and lapsed fans waiting for a reason to rejoin the Waaagh!, it is the sort of comeback that feels both nostalgic and instantly playable.
Warhammer Community framed the Wartrakk as fast, lightly armoured mobile fire support, with the Nob on the back firing a rack of rokkits at whatever looks toughest on the table. That makes the vehicle a very Orky problem for the enemy, because it is built to hurl brutal firepower at hard targets and then use its speed to stay annoying. The rokkit launcha is presented as especially punishing into elite infantry such as Terminators if the shots connect, but the catch is exactly what Ork players would expect: hitting is the tricky bit.

That tension is what gives the unit its appeal. The Wartrakk can sit alongside nearby Warbikers and add more mobile firepower to the unit, or it can roam as a cheap harassment piece on its own. Either way, the profile points toward a flexible support role rather than a single fixed build, which fits an army that thrives on ramshackle tools, Waaagh! momentum and making the opponent’s shooting phase more complicated than planned. Warhammer Community’s broader Orks coverage has already described the faction as brutally flexible, and the Wartrakk slides neatly into that identity.
The model’s return also matters because it arrives inside Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon, which Warhammer Community has described as the biggest Warhammer 40,000 launch set yet. The box includes 23 brand new push-fit Space Marines and 38 brand new push-fit Orks, along with a Core Rules booklet, Armageddon: Operation Imperator lore book, Chapter Approved 2026-27 Mission Deck, Dominatus Narrative Campaign Deck, Armageddon datasheet cards and an Armageddon transfer sheet. The setting ties directly into the story, with the Ork horde swelling after Ghazghkull Thraka’s return to Armageddon and the Space Marines launching Operation Imperator to stop Imperial resistance from collapsing.
The full boxed set was revealed on 1 May 2026, and the Wartrakk’s comeback gives that launch box one of its clearest hooks. It is not just a nostalgia piece for collectors of classic Ork kits. It is a live battlefield tool, dropped back into Armageddon at exactly the moment Ork players needed a reason to slam the throttle and open fire.
