Malaika Arora has never been shy about her relationship with accessories. With Maejoy, the actor and entrepreneur has formalized it into a brand, co-created with Exceed Entertainment and Myntra Jabong India Private Limited (MJIPL), the B2B wholesale entity of Myntra, and launched exclusively on Myntra's website and mobile app.

The debut collection opens with over 250 styles spanning two distinct categories: handbags and lab-grown diamond jewellery. The bag assortment covers crossbody bags, structured shoulder bags, bucket bags, totes, backpacks, clutches, and workwear classics, rendered in synthetic leather, raffia, braids, satin, rhinestone, and metallic finishes. The jewellery line is where the brand's more considered craftsmanship shows: rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets, and tennis bracelets, all set in 925 sterling silver bases and finished in silver, gold, and rose-gold tones, with lab-grown diamonds certified by both IGI and GCI.

That certification detail matters. IGI and GCI grading on lab-grown stones signals a brand aware that its customers will ask questions, even in an accessible price segment. The 925 sterling silver base is a durable, industry-standard choice that holds plating reliably, a practical decision for pieces intended for everyday wear rather than the vault.

Arora described the venture in a statement as "a labour of love," adding that the brand "aims to democratise the global fashion trends while offering women something that can extend the feeling of luxury every day, while being accessible- be it a lab-grown diamond or a perfectly crafted handbag." The brand's operating philosophy, "The Joy of Being Me," anchors its positioning around authenticity, empowerment, and accessibility.

Suman Saha, CXO and Head of House of Brands at MJIPL, said the brand "brings together Malaika Arora's distinctive style perspective with a strong proposition in the accessible yet elevated accessories space." Afsar Zaidi, CEO of Exceed Entertainment, pointed to the partnership's structural logic: "Building celebrity-led brands requires a delicate balance of authenticity and market viability. Having successfully worked with Myntra Jabong in the past, it was easy working with them on Maejoy."

The Myntra exclusivity places Maejoy squarely within India's fast-growing digital fashion retail channel, where celebrity-backed labels have found a reliable path to scale. For a brand premised on democratizing luxury, starting with one of the country's largest fashion platforms is a coherent first move. Whether the lab-grown diamond line can carve meaningful ground in a category that India's fine jewellery market is only beginning to absorb at accessible price points will be the more interesting question to watch.
