Southern State Community College Accepting Scholarship Applications for 2026-27 Academic Year

Southern State Community College is accepting scholarship applications for the fall 2026 and spring 2027 semesters, with the priority deadline for awards just three weeks away on March 31.

The college offers more than 40 scholarship funds, with individual awards ranging from $500 to $4,000. Award amounts are based on full-time enrollment across both semesters and will be prorated for students enrolled part-time. To streamline the process, SSCC uses a single online application designed to automatically match applicants to the scholarships for which they are eligible, rather than requiring students to hunt down and apply to each fund individually.

The March 31 date carries real weight. Applications received after that deadline will be considered only if scholarship funds remain available after the first round of priority offers is completed. Students who miss the cutoff are not automatically excluded, but their chances depend entirely on what is left after priority applicants are served. The application portal itself stays open through the first week of fall classes in August, giving late applicants a window, though without the same guarantee.

One eligibility restriction applies regardless of timing: students enrolled in the College Credit Plus program during the 2026-27 academic year are ineligible for these scholarships due to program funding rules. CCP students should factor that restriction into their financial planning for the coming year.
