Impact Alamance’s Board of Directors approved $25,890 in strategic grants on November 18, 2025 to support five For Alamance Action Teams, funding arts partnerships, community dinners, school murals, a student writer, and youth wellness work. The investments aim to strengthen grassroots leadership and community driven initiatives, a move that could shape local civic engagement and service delivery across Alamance County.

Impact Alamance’s Board of Directors voted on November 18, 2025 to allocate a total of $25,890 in grants to five For Alamance Action Teams, providing targeted funding for community projects across Alamance County. The awards are intended to boost grassroots leadership and support locally led initiatives in arts, belonging, faith based outreach, narrative building, and youth wellness.
The Arts and Culture Team received $5,250 to enable partnerships between art teachers and local artists and to supply classroom materials. The Bridge Team was awarded $4,890 to organize Belonging at the Table dinners designed to foster community conversations. The Faith Team received $5,250 to partner with artists to paint Everyone Belongs murals at three public schools. The Narrative Team secured $5,250 to hire and manage a student writer from Elon University to produce stories highlighting community action. The Youth Wellness Team was granted $5,250 to support youth listening sessions, mental health support services, and the MyVoice digital platform.
These allocations reflect a strategic emphasis on community storytelling, civic dialogue, and youth mental health at a modest cost. For residents, the immediate impacts include expanded arts programming in classrooms, visible public art in schools that signals inclusion, structured opportunities for cross community discussion, and new channels for young people to express needs and access supports. The decision also connects local institutions, including public schools and Elon University, with community organizers and artists.

From an institutional perspective, the grants demonstrate how local philanthropic actors can seed projects that rely on volunteer energy and community partnerships rather than large scale funding. Although the total sum is limited, directing funds to capacity building and narrative work may strengthen civic infrastructure and encourage broader participation in civic life. Tracking participation outcomes and the sustainability of these initiatives will determine whether these investments translate into lasting increases in civic engagement and influence local policy priorities. The board action underscores a continued local focus on building inclusive community networks and addressing youth wellness needs through grassroots efforts.
