Jackson Parrish scored all three of his touchdowns last season against the program he just joined. The former Southern Alamance running back transferred from Barton College to North Greenville University in Tigerville, South Carolina, moving midway through his college career from one Division II Conference Carolinas program to another.

"Ultimately, it was just about me being able to enjoy where I was at," Parrish said. "It was a multitude of factors. … I was trying to get to a place to get a fresh start."

The numbers tell the story of what he left behind. During Barton's 3-8 season in 2025, Parrish rushed for 104 yards on 25 carries, and all three of his touchdowns came in a single game against North Greenville — the same team that beat Barton 41-28 at home in September on its way to a 6-0 conference record and a 7-5 overall finish. The Trailblazers were eliminated in the first round of the NCAA Division II playoffs by West Florida, ending the first season under head coach Nate Garner.

That trajectory is precisely what drew Parrish in. "I have got a team with a better drive behind them," he said. "Hope I can add to that fuel."

Parrish said his workload might lessen with North Greenville compared to his time at Barton. His connections to the Tigerville campus were limited before the transfer, though he had crossed paths with North Greenville students through Young Life camps.

At Southern Alamance, Parrish shared the backfield with Logan Foust in the Patriots' rush-heavy offense. He will not be the only alumnus making his way to the Trailblazers: current Southern Alamance senior Camden Edwards, an offensive lineman, has already signed to play for North Greenville.

The calendar will offer Parrish a pointed moment in his first season with his new program. North Greenville is scheduled to play at Barton on Oct. 24, and Parrish is already looking ahead to it. "When I get to show everybody what I've been working for," he said.
