Allendale-Fairfax Elementary Honors Scholars at Third Quarter Awards Day
Allendale-Fairfax Elementary recognized students for perfect attendance, honor roll, GREAT participation and more, signaling steady academic momentum in a county of 7,355 people.

Perfect attendance, honor roll, GREAT participation and a new crop of kindergarten standouts took center stage at Allendale-Fairfax Elementary School’s Third Quarter Awards Ceremony, where students were publicly recognized for the kind of effort that helps build stronger report cards and stronger habits.
The school said it honored students for Perfect Attendance, Honor Roll and GREAT participation, while also naming Students of the Month who reflected the school’s character words. Kindergarten students were recognized as Rising Stars and Super-K Scholars, giving families a visible snapshot of progress that reached beyond grades alone. At Allendale-Fairfax Elementary, the ceremony functioned as both celebration and reinforcement, putting student work in front of classmates, teachers and parents in a way that can make achievement feel tangible.
That matters in Allendale County Schools, a public K-12 district that says it serves more than 900 students in rural Allendale County and aims to prepare every child with a world-class holistic education for college, career and life. The district says its values include high expectations, positive character and collaboration among the community, home and school, and this awards day fit squarely inside that message. The elementary school’s address is 3305 Allendale-Fairfax Hwy in Fairfax, while the district office sits nearby at 3249 Allendale-Fairfax Hwy, another sign of how closely the school system is tied to the town it serves.
The recognition also comes against the backdrop of a county that continues to shrink. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated Allendale County’s population at 7,355 on July 1, 2025, down from 8,039 in the 2020 Census. In a place that small, school celebrations carry extra weight because they are not just about one classroom or one grade. They are community markers, especially when families are looking for signs that academic routines are taking hold and that schools are making room to celebrate more than test scores.
Allendale County Schools has also emphasized longer-term pathways, including STEM courses, dual enrollment through the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie and Denmark Technical College, and career and technical education in health occupations, welding and automotive technology. The district has spent years working to restore confidence after the South Carolina Department of Education declared a state of emergency in the district on June 19, 2017. Against that history, a ceremony like this is more than a one-day honor roll. It is part of a broader effort to make achievement visible, repeatable and part of the culture at Allendale-Fairfax Elementary.
