Allendale-Fairfax Names Kevin Jones New Head Football Coach
Kevin Jones, who guided Blackville-Hilda to 10 wins in 2022, was named Allendale-Fairfax's head football coach on April 3.

Kevin Jones is the new head football coach at Allendale-Fairfax High School, the school announced April 3, bringing in a coach with a record of rebuilding programs at the Class A level across two states.
Jones took over Blackville-Hilda High School's football program ahead of the 2022 season and, in his first year leading the Fighting Hawks, guided them to a ten-win campaign, one of their strongest stretches in recent memory. That result at Blackville-Hilda established Jones as a coach capable of shifting a program's culture in a short time. He has also spent time at Hampton High School in Georgia, adding experience across state lines before returning to South Carolina's coaching ranks.
The Tigers need that kind of résumé. Allendale-Fairfax finished the 2024-25 season without a single win, going 0-10 in a year that extended a run of difficulty for a program that once competed among the stronger Class A teams in the state. Those seasons have widened the gap between what the Tigers' football history represents and what the scoreboard has recently shown.

Jones has made clear what he intends to do about that gap. He has spoken of reawakening the competitive identity that defined Allendale-Fairfax football in earlier eras, the standard the program built before the recent lean years set in. In a county of fewer than 9,000 people where Friday night football draws the community together, that kind of commitment to the program's historical identity carries real weight.
Local South Carolina high school sports accounts confirmed the hire on April 3. Jones heads into his first offseason at the helm with the 2026 season set to offer his first test of whether Allendale-Fairfax can begin closing that distance.
