Allendale-Fairfax Middle High School will present Voices in Color, a Black History Month program showcasing music, movement, art and drama that highlights student performance and community engagement.

Allendale-Fairfax Middle High School will present Voices in Color, a Black History Month program billed as a multimedia celebration of African American history through student performance and community participation. The event is set for Feb. 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the AFHS Gymnasium at 3581 Allendale-Fairfax Hwy., Fairfax, SC.
Organizers describe the program under the tagline "TELLING BLACK HISTORY THROUGH MUSIC, MOVEMENT, AND ART." Planned elements are listed as "MUSIC | ART | MOTIVATION | DRAMA | CULTURE." The school named Trey Nickelson as "MASTER OF CEREMONY TREY NICKELSON" and noted local radio personality "AFTERNOON HOST GLORY 98.5/100.1 - FLORENCE SC" will be on hand. The program will include a motivational segment identified exactly as "MOTIVATIONAL MOMENT MR. CAMERON I. SEAWRIGHT DIRECTOR, YOUTH & YOUNG ADULTS AME 2ND EPISCOPAL DIStRICT."
Voices in Color joins a slate of district activities and community-focused events that showcase how Allendale County Schools is using events to reengage families after winter disruptions and to highlight student supports. A district operational announcement states, "We are happy to share that we have returned to our full schedule following the winter storm. We will follow normal operations including arrival and dismissal time at each school. All after-school programs and athletic events will take place as scheduled. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we prioritized the safety of our students and staff. We look forward to seeing everyone at tonight's JV and Varsity basketball games against Ridgeland starting at 5:30 PM."
The school system is also promoting a hiring fair and other school events that may be of interest to residents. The posting for the district career event reads in full: "CAREFREXPO & JOB FAR All in for the Allendale Comeback! Other recent district notices include student-centered events such as the AFES Valentine’s Day Masquerade and a mental health–themed basketball game encouraging spectators to "please wear a shade of green to show support for mental health awareness." The district has also recognized local board members and counselors by name, including Farrah Maner, Nakeisha Holloway, Jessica Kinard and Dr. Karen Stacks.
Allendale-Fairfax’s program sits within a broader regional pattern of Black History Month programming; the Fairfax County Park Authority in Virginia is offering public lectures and site programs through February, including events at Frying Pan Farm Park, Sully Historic Site, Historic Huntley and Colvin Run Mill with per-event fees ranging from free to $12.
For Allendale County residents, Voices in Color offers a chance to see student work tied to Black history and culture and to connect with school activities that support learning, mental health awareness and local hiring. Confirm details such as public access, parking and program length with Allendale County Schools ahead of the Feb. 26 program.
