Selvage throws perfect game as Benedictine sweeps Park University
Bailey Selvage retired all 21 Park batters in a perfect game at Ravens Stadium, then Benedictine finished a 2-0, 4-0 sweep in Atchison.

Bailey Selvage turned a low-scoring home game into a program milestone, throwing a perfect game and leading Benedictine College past Park University, 2-0, at Ravens Stadium in Atchison.
Selvage was flawless over seven innings. She faced 21 batters and retired all 21 in order, allowing no hits, no walks and no hit batters while striking out 14. The win moved the senior right-hander to 12-6 and gave Benedictine one of the rarest pitching lines in softball, the kind that immediately stands out in a team’s history.
The Ravens made the performance even bigger by completing the doubleheader sweep with a 4-0 victory in the second game. That left Benedictine at 28-12 overall, while Park, which represents the school’s Parkville, Missouri campus, fell to 19-21. In a two-game set at home, Benedictine controlled both sides of the day, first with Selvage’s shut-down outing and then with another shutout in the nightcap.
For Atchison, the game carried local weight beyond the final score. Benedictine College is one of the county’s most visible institutions, and Ravens Stadium is a familiar stop for local fans who track spring sports closely. Selvage’s name now joins the list of standout individual performances tied to a campus that has become synonymous with competitive athletics in town.

The perfect game also fit the shape of Selvage’s season. Benedictine had already recognized her on March 16 as Heart Pitcher of the Week after she threw an eight-inning complete game against No. 8 Central Methodist and had 70 strikeouts over 69 innings at that point in the year. Her official roster lists her as a senior from Lincoln, Nebraska, and a graduate of Lincoln Southwest High School, details that underscore how a veteran arm can anchor a team deep into the schedule.
Against Park, the margin was slim, but the significance was not. A 2-0 win backed by a perfect game is the sort of performance that stays with a program, and the sweep showed Benedictine was not living off one extraordinary outing. It was a complete day for the Ravens, capped by Selvage’s place in the record book.
