Autauga County Emergency Contacts and Public Safety Resources for All Residents
Knowing one wrong number in a crisis costs precious minutes: here are the verified emergency and public safety contacts every Autauga County household should save right now.

Knowing exactly who to call, and when, can be the difference between a fast response and a dangerous delay. Whether you live in Prattville's city limits, Millbrook's subdivisions, or one of the unincorporated communities spread across Autauga County's rural roads and timber land, this guide puts every critical contact in one place.
When to call 911 and when not to
Autauga County 911's mission is to provide citizens with a timely and accurate communications link to emergency response services, and to provide all local government emergency response agencies with complete, accurate, and timely dispatch services to minimize damage to property and the loss of lives. That means any genuine emergency, whether fire, medical crisis, or crime in progress, belongs on 911.
For situations that are urgent but not life-threatening, the non-emergency dispatch line is 334-361-9911, which routes to the same communications center and covers both Prattville Police and Prattville Fire non-emergency calls. Dispatchers send the correct agency based on county maps, road data, and municipal lines, so if you are ever unsure, calling 911 for an emergency is always appropriate; dispatch will route your call correctly.
Autauga County Sheriff's Office
The county's mix of rural communities, farm and timber land, and growing population brings its own set of public safety concerns, including property crimes, traffic issues on rural roads, and emergencies in areas far from city limits, and the Sheriff's Office tailors its patrol and response strategies to fit those realities.
The Autauga County Sheriff's Office is the lead law enforcement agency in unincorporated parts of Autauga County, outside municipality city limits, including the communities of Pine Level, Marbury, Booth, White City, Jones, Evergreen, Kingston, Pentecost, Mulberry, and Independence.
Beyond patrol, emergency calls and crime response are only part of the Sheriff's Office responsibilities, as many of the day-to-day tasks that keep the county running safely fall to the Sheriff and deputies, including providing security for the courts in Autauga County.

Autauga County Emergency Management Agency
The Autauga County Emergency Management Agency was established in 1984 and conducts programs and activities designed to provide the county's citizens with the ability to prepare for, cope with, and recover from the effects of disasters.
Autauga County Emergency Management is responsible for coordinating with all emergency response agencies, including the Sheriff's Office, fire departments, and police departments, combining Emergency Operations Plans with these agencies to ensure that in the event of a disaster, every agency can work together.
The agency writes plans and grants to help ensure the preparedness and safety of Autauga County, conducts educational programs and training for response agencies and citizens, and makes disaster preparedness presentations in all county schools and senior centers.
Autauga County also has several designated storm shelters to protect residents from storm-related hazards. If you are considering adding a personal shelter, beginning in 2022, eligible taxpayers who incur costs for the construction, acquisition, or installation of a qualified storm shelter at their primary residence in Alabama became eligible for an income tax credit equal to $3,000 or 50 percent of the total cost, whichever is less.

A note on jurisdiction
One of the most common points of confusion in the county is knowing which agency handles which call. The answer is straightforward: if you are inside Prattville's city limits, Prattville PD responds. If you are in Millbrook, Millbrook PD handles it. If you live on a county road, in a small community like Pine Level or Autaugaville, or outside a city police jurisdiction, the Sheriff's Office is the agency that will respond when you call 911. No matter where you are in Autauga County, dialing 911 puts a trained dispatcher in charge of making that determination immediately, so you never need to sort it out yourself in a crisis. Save these numbers, share them with your household, and keep a printed copy somewhere accessible when the power goes out.
