Autauga Humane Society spotlights playful German Shepherd-Husky mix Skunk
Skunk is a 5-month-old German Shepherd-Husky mix with one blue eye and one brown eye, and PAHS says he needs an active home without cats or chickens.

Skunk is a 5-month-old German Shepherd-Husky mix with a black-and-white coat, one blue eye and one brown eye, and Prattville/Autauga Humane Society says he is looking for an active home in Autauga County.
At about 35 pounds, Skunk is still expected to grow into a large adult dog. PAHS describes him as shy at first, then deeply loyal and curious once he warms up, a temperament that makes him a strong match for a family ready to give him structure, play and regular exercise.
The shelter says Skunk does well with kids and other dogs, but he is not suited for homes with cats or chickens. That detail matters in parts of Autauga County where backyard animals are common, and it can make the difference between a quick adoption and a longer stay at the shelter for a young dog with plenty of energy to burn.
For PAHS, moving high-energy young dogs like Skunk into the right homes now also helps keep kennel space available for other animals coming in from municipal animal control officers and local residents who surrender pets. PAHS says it provides homeless animals with shelter and care while working to find them new homes, so each adoption opens room for the next intake.

PAHS lists dog and puppy adoption fees at $120 and cat and kitten fees at $75. Those fees include a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations as age and law require, a courtesy vet exam at participating offices, and discounted spay-neuter services.
The shelter is at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville, Alabama 36067, and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For current information, PAHS lists the phone number 334-358-2882 and the email adopt@prattvilleautaugahumane.org.
