An Elmore County circuit judge handed down a 50-year prison sentence to Dokata Hollinger, an 18-year-old Millbrook resident, after Hollinger entered a guilty plea in a criminal case involving sexual offenses against a child under 12 years old.

The sentencing, which took place March 12-13, 2026, caps a case that began when Millbrook Police received a complaint on March 6. According to Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson, officers detained Hollinger at the scene the same day the complaint was made. He was charged with three counts of rape in the first degree and sodomy in the first degree.

Hollinger was held in the Elmore County Jail without bond following his arrest, pending an Aniah's Law hearing. Aniah's Law, passed in Alabama in 2019 following the abduction and murder of Auburn student Aniah Blanchard, allows judges to deny bail to defendants charged with certain violent and serious felonies.

The victim's identity has not been disclosed, consistent with protections afforded to juvenile victims. Court records have described the victim only as a child under 12.

The case reflects a pattern of child-exploitation prosecutions involving Millbrook that stretches back nearly two decades. In July 2007, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Alabama announced federal sentences against two Millbrook men on separate child pornography charges. Joshua Wayne Hester, then 22, received 292 months in federal prison for producing child pornography, sentenced by U.S. District Judge Mark E. Fuller. On the same day, Daniel L. Platt, a 50-year-old former Millbrook Middle School teacher, was sentenced to ten years and lifetime supervised release after pleading guilty to possessing hundreds of images of children engaged in sexually explicit activity, found on his laptop. Both federal cases were investigated by the Millbrook Police Department in cooperation with the FBI.

In the Hollinger case, no federal charges have been reported, and the prosecution proceeded through Elmore County circuit court. The name of the presiding judge and the attorneys involved in the case have not been made public in available records.
