Paint Prattville Plein Air March 20–21 Invites River Region Artists, Public
The Prattauga Art Guild will hold Paint Prattville, a two-day plein air painting weekend March 20–21 in downtown Prattville, inviting River Region artists and the public to the Creek Walk.

The Prattauga Art Guild, working with the Prattville Creative Arts Center and local volunteers, is organizing the annual Paint Prattville plein air event," organizers say, scheduling the two-day Paint Prattville plein air festival for March 20–21 in Prattville, Alabama. The weekend will invite regional and local artists to paint outdoors and welcomes the public to view work in progress and finished pieces.
The Prattville Art Guild office is located in the Prattville Creative Arts Center at 342 South Chestnut Street behind City Hall in historic Downtown Prattville. "This 1890’s house is nestled among the live oaks and magnolias along Autauga Creek and Prattville’s beautiful Creek Walk," and the Center is home to The Art Gallery, which features works by members of the Prattauga Art Guild and guest artists with exhibits changing throughout the year.
Social posts and local outreach specifically call for artist participation. "If you are an artist and love painting outdoors, join us for the annual Prattauga Art Guild ‘Paint Prattville’ Plein Air Painting event!" one local post reads, and a Facebook announcement notes, "Prattauga Art Guild to host annual Paint Prattville Plein Air Event March 20-21 Artists from throughout the River Region will converge on" Prattville to paint at outdoor sites. Elmoreautauganews confirms at least one named participant: "Prattville, Alabama. We are excited to announce that River Region artist Barbara Binford Davis will be a participant in this year's event."
Organizers and regional plein air advocates frame the weekend around outdoor practice and quick visual decision-making. As Alabama Plein Air Artists explains, "Enjoying nature's sights and sounds with fellow artists! Plein air requires quick composition and brushwork. The paintings reflect the essence of the scene, resulting in an impressionistic style. Some complete their work on site and others finish in their studio, using photos and visual memory for the scene."

Key logistical details remain to be confirmed by the Prattauga Art Guild and Prattville Creative Arts Center. The public notice and social posts do not list official start and end times for March 20 or March 21, artist registration steps or fees, designated paint sites, or whether finished works will be exhibited or sold. For general plein air questions, Alabama Plein Air Artists lists an FAQ contact at alapleinairartist@gmail.com; the Prattauga Art Guild office is based at 342 South Chestnut Street for in-person inquiries.
With regional artists expected to converge on downtown Prattville and the Prattville Creative Arts Center on March 20–21, the Paint Prattville plein air weekend will bring concentrated outdoor artmaking to the Creek Walk and historic live-oak corridors, offering residents and visitors a chance to see River Region painters working in public spaces.
