Prattville Theater Group Announces Auditions for Outdoor Alice in Wonderland Production

Way Off Broadway Theatre and the City of Prattville Parks & Recreation Department announced open auditions for an outdoor production of Alice in Wonderland, marking the inaugural show in a new WOBT initiative called the Spotlight on Spillway outdoor series. The announcement signaled an expansion of Prattville's community theater programming into outdoor venues, though specific audition dates and performance schedules for the Alice in Wonderland production were not disclosed in the initial announcement.

Alongside the Spotlight on Spillway debut, WOBT also announced auditions for a separate production: PUFFS, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic, a comedy by Matt Cox directed by Alex Rikerd. Those auditions were scheduled for Sunday, July 20, and Monday, July 21, both at 6:30 pm, with callbacks set for Tuesday, July 22, at 6:30 pm if needed. Performances were slated to run September 18 through October 5, 2025.

The PUFFS release offered a winking pitch to potential audiences: "You've heard the story of the boy wizard who conquered evil. This… is not that story." The production's stance on casting was equally direct. "WOBT is committed to inclusive casting and encourages all interested performers to audition," the announcement stated.
