River Region Rodeo Adds Gala, Queen Pageant to Fourth Annual May Event

The Prattville Rotary Club is expanding its fourth annual River Region Rodeo into a multi-part weekend celebration, adding a Gold Buckle Gala and a Rodeo Queen Pageant to the event scheduled for May 29 and 30 at the R.H. Kirkpatrick Agricultural Pavilion in Autaugaville.

The rodeo returns to 2224 Highway 14 West with Lone Star Rodeo Company, which the club describes as the nation's oldest family-produced rodeo, continuing as the production partner. The company has operated for roughly 75 to 77 years, with the official site and ticketing platform differing slightly on that figure. All proceeds will support community causes through grants and scholarships administered by the Prattville Rotary Club, with residents of Autauga, Elmore, Chilton, Dallas, and Montgomery counties among the intended beneficiaries.

The competitive lineup includes bronc riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team roping, cowgirls breakaway roping, cowgirls barrel racing, and bull riding. Chuckwagon racing and pre-show kid events are also on the program, along with performances by nine-time Rodeo Clown of the Year Mighty Mike Wentworth.

Tickets are available online in advance or at the door. The Prattville Rotary Club lists general admission at $30 per person or $50 per pair, while the Showpass ticketing platform lists advance prices of $17 for adults 13 and older and $13 for children ages 4 through 12, with night-of-show prices rising to $20 and $15 respectively. Children 3 and under are free. The Rotary Club confirms that credit cards and cash are both accepted at the door. Seating at the Kirkpatrick Arena is limited, and the show proceeds rain or shine, with refunds issued only if the entire event is cancelled.
