Comics Plus Now Free for All Baker County Library Cardholders
Comics Plus is now free for all Baker County Library cardholders, giving instant access to thousands of comics, graphic novels, and manga.

All Baker County Library cardholders gained free access to Comics Plus on January 23, 2026, expanding the library’s digital offerings with thousands of comics, graphic novels, and manga for readers of all ages. The platform provides unlimited, on-demand reading with no wait lists and no due dates, and works on computers, tablets, and phones with options for offline reading.
Comics Plus includes separate collections for kids, teens, and adults, making it easier for families and schools to find age-appropriate material. To start, patrons can visit the library website, select the Books & More page and then Comics Plus, log in with their library card number and PIN, and begin reading immediately. Library staff are available at any Baker County Library branch or by phone to help patrons with access and account questions.
Library Director Perry Stokes emphasized the service’s reach. “Comics Plus lets our patrons read and explore without limits,” said Perry Stokes, Library Director. “It’s a perfect way to make reading fun and accessible for everyone.”
Beyond entertainment, the new offering has practical community benefits. Free access to digital comics removes a cost barrier for families facing tight budgets and supports literacy in multiple formats - visual storytelling can engage reluctant readers, young learners, and adult readers with limited time. For residents with transportation challenges, mobility limitations, or caregiving responsibilities, the ability to download and read offline reduces the need for in-person visits and helps maintain access to library services from home.

Public health and equity considerations are also relevant. Expanding digital library resources can support young people’s social-emotional development by providing creative outlets and a sense of belonging through stories that reflect diverse experiences. In Baker County, where access to high-speed internet and paid content varies across households, a no-cost digital collection helps level the playing field for remote learners and adults seeking low-cost leisure and educational materials.
For parents, educators, and caregivers looking to integrate comics into reading routines, Comics Plus offers a low-stakes entry point that complements classroom and afterschool programs. Patrons who need help signing in or choosing age-appropriate collections should stop by their local branch or call the library for assistance.
This change broadens the library’s toolkit for promoting literacy, inclusion, and equitable access to culture. Readers can sign in now and begin exploring thousands of titles, and Baker County Library staff will continue supporting patrons as the service rolls out across the community.
