Damien Jurado to Play Churchill School in Baker City Feb. 15

Singer-songwriter Damien Jurado will bring a headline performance to Churchill School in Baker City, offering a high-profile stop that activates Broadway Street businesses and adds to the local live-music calendar. The show is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 15, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. and music beginning at 6:45 p.m.

The concert features an opening set by St. Yuma - also listed as Saint Yuma in some publicity - and is presented with local sponsorship from BELLA Main St. Market. MC Taco Bus will operate on-site food service, and advance tickets are priced at $25 with a $30 door price. Admission is free for attendees 15 and younger who are with a paid adult, and a $5 discount is advertised for veterans, active military and students ages 16-21; some ticket listings also include seniors 60 and older among discount-eligible patrons. Jurado started his own label, Maraqopa Records, and has pursued a release strategy that often begins with digital downloads on Bandcamp and his official site before moving to streaming platforms. His most recent record, Private Hospital, was released in October 2025 as a digital-only album accompanied by a photobook and download code; Jurado said the photobook "sold out immediately."

Jurado frames his approach to releasing music and touring as deliberately flexible: "I release records when I want to, and tour when I want to tour," he said, adding that he is "molding a business that fits the current day. People love instant everything." Tour routing confirmed by the opening act’s social media places St. Yuma in Bend on Feb. 13 before the Baker City date.
