Baltimore police probe Thursday shooting near East Lombard Street, Horseradish Lane
Police are probing a Thursday morning shooting near East Lombard Street and Horseradish Lane, an area near the Inner Harbor that has seen violence before.

A shooting near East Lombard Street and Horseradish Lane drew Baltimore police Thursday morning in the downtown corridor just south of the Inner Harbor, another violent episode in a stretch of the city where workers, commuters and residents have had to keep a close eye on the block.
Police had not publicly released the time of the shooting, whether anyone was injured or whether detectives were actively looking for a suspect. On-scene video showed police activity near the East Lombard Street corridor as investigators began piecing together what happened.

The location matters because East Lombard Street has already been the site of earlier shootings in recent years. A fatal double shooting on East Lombard Street in April 2024 and a separate early-morning shooting in June 2025 put the downtown area on edge, underscoring how violence along the Inner Harbor edge can reverberate beyond the immediate scene and shape how nearby businesses and passersby view the block.
The latest shooting also lands against a broader citywide backdrop that has remained stubbornly familiar. In May 2026, Baltimore police had recorded 42 non-fatal shootings for the year, the same number seen at that point in 2025, suggesting the city had not yet made a clear break from the prior year’s pace. Police public crime pages track shootings and other Part I crimes, including homicide, robbery and aggravated assault, through an open-data map.
Baltimore police say their public crime map is updated once every morning, while Open Baltimore data is updated once a week, so the two systems may not match exactly. Anyone with information can call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP to leave an anonymous tip, a channel Baltimore police regularly direct witnesses to use in shooting investigations.
