Turnaround Tuesday Opens Fourth Baltimore Hub in Govans Neighborhood
Turnaround Tuesday opened its fourth Baltimore hub in Govans on Friday, bringing short-term workforce services to another underserved neighborhood.

Turnaround Tuesday expanded its Baltimore footprint Friday, opening a fourth community hub in the Govans neighborhood as the workforce-development nonprofit continues its push to connect underemployed city residents with employers and job services.
The Govans location marks the latest step in a model built around short-term, high-impact services designed to move participants quickly from unemployment or underemployment into stable work. The organization, known locally as TAT, now operates four community hubs across Baltimore, with Govans representing its most recent geographic reach into a North Baltimore neighborhood.
Executive director Melvin Brown has described the organization's approach as one that brings participants directly into rooms where hiring decisions are made. "I'll never forget the first time we brought a group of Turnaround Tuesday participants to a breakfast meeting with the presidents and CEOs of Baltimore's hospitals and universities," Brown wrote on the TAT website. "As our participants shared their stories and their dreams for the future, I watched as the faces of those executives changed from skepticism to understanding to a genuine commitment to be part of the solution."

That breakfast meeting dynamic captures something essential about how Turnaround Tuesday operates: it positions participants not as applicants waiting on the margins but as voices at the table, compelling Baltimore's anchor institutions to become active partners rather than passive observers.
The Govans hub joins three existing Baltimore locations in extending that mission neighborhood by neighborhood. Specific services offered at the new site, its street address, and the names of employer partners connected to the Govans location were not immediately available.
