Bemidji Senior Center Hosts Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser Feb. 14

The Bemidji Senior Center will host its monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser from 8 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, at the center at 216 Third St. NW. The event is billed as a community gathering and a fundraiser: proceeds will benefit the senior center’s programs and operations.

The senior center’s release encouraged attendance, saying, “This is a great way to come make memories with family and friends while supporting the Bemidji Senior Center,” and adding, “All are welcome to attend.” Organizers describe the meal as including sausage, pancakes and milk, and note that the center’s event page promotes “Hildur Lamon’s famous made-from-scratch (best in Bemidji) pancakes.”

Price points are set to remain affordable: $7.00 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and under, with the cost covering the full plate of pancakes, sausage and milk. The pancake breakfast is a recurring fundraiser on the second Saturday of each month, and the center frames it as both a social opportunity and an ongoing source of support for services that benefit local seniors.

AARP volunteer tax preparers will assist with income tax returns from February through April 15 on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and will review property tax or renter’s rebate questions June through August on the second Monday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Board meetings are open to the public on the fourth Tuesday each month at 1:00 p.m.
