Demi's Pavilions planned for Coors Boulevard, bringing 100 jobs

Demi's Pavilions is planned for 10120 Coors Blvd. NW, where the project would add retail space and up to 100 jobs to one of the West Side’s busiest commercial corridors. The City of Albuquerque traffic scoping form describes the site as a 15,000-square-foot strip shopping center, while project materials attached to the proposal put the retail footprint at 17,000 square feet.

For drivers on Coors Boulevard, the change is less about the storefront name than the daily impact of another stop-and-go destination in a corridor already drawing more investment. The location sits in northwest Albuquerque, where residents already navigate traffic generated by nearby shopping, housing and office projects, and city transportation documents show public work is moving in the same stretch of road.

Seven Bar Development is also planning a separate mixed-use project on Coors Boulevard with townhomes, retail and office space, underscoring how quickly the West Side corridor is filling in. The city has a median-improvement project listed for Coors Boulevard from 7 Bar Loop to Ellison Blvd. NW, a signal that traffic flow and road design are getting attention as the area adds more trips and turning movements.

The jobs figure will matter most if the tenants fill gaps West Siders actually use. The current filings do not spell out which retailers or services would occupy Demi’s Pavilions, and that leaves open the central question for nearby neighborhoods: whether the development will deliver everyday conveniences or simply add another shopping center to an already crowded commercial strip. Up to 100 jobs is a meaningful number for one project, but the value to Bernalillo County will depend on what kinds of positions they are and when hiring starts.

Coors Boulevard has become a clear pressure point for westside growth, with retail, mixed-use and road projects moving in parallel.
